Camp Eventide, a screenplay

Hi-di-ho! Want to read my screenplay Camp Eventide? You can do so here. Or check the rest of the post for a synopsis and the unofficial soundtrack. Ta.

Set in Pennsylvania—which not coincidently rhymes with “Transylvania” —during the eventful summer of 1982 (Lady Di gave birth to Prince William, spiritual leader Sun Myung Moon was sent to the slammer for filing false income tax returns, and journalists reported on a form of Kaposi’s Sarcoma that’d soon become better known as the AIDS virus), Camp Eventide is a horror anthology about things that go bump in the night, bad dreams at drive-in theaters, lesbian vampires, the Grim Reaper’s hunt for a cushy new job, and the downfall of a lecherous egghead. The framing story, featuring Rose White and three other nubile camp counselors huddled around a log fire, weaves these yarns together in a way that toys with viewer expectations and genre conventions.

Camp Eventide is a sexy, scary, playful, blood-soaked, unpretentious screenplay that’s apt to give horror buffs everything they could wish for—and perhaps a little more.
